Being a ‘westsider’ since birth, living on the ‘eastside’ (Willoughby) a few years ago gave me a real appreciation for a couple areas that I thought were unique — the gorgeous beach at Mentor Headlands and Geneva On the Lake. So, when Rachael and Steve asked me to photograph their wedding and reception at the Lodge at Geneva on the Lake, I ecstatically replied, “yes!” I couldn’t wait to go back!

Rachael wanted a mix of urban and rural settings for their engagement session, so I suggested  The Old Courthouse, East Forth Street, and finishing our session during sunset at Rocky River Beach.

Can’t wait for their wedding very soon! And I’m also excited to work my friend and amazing wedding coordinator, Angela Wish!

I think it was around 42 degrees outside when we met for our session in Chagrin Falls, but we braved the cold for Abby & Bob’s session. And what a quaint little area to shoot! I’m a west-sider, so I don’t get out there as often as I’d like, but every time it’s mentioned by a client I jump at the chance! . We spent our time walking around the shops, took a break to grab some hot chocolate at The Popcorn Shop Factory (which I learned was a stop on the Underground Railroad), and finished at the town hall. Here’s my favorites from our morning:

Lindsay, Christopher and I met in late October at a perfect little spot right across the street from Huntington Beach. Although it was late October, the leaves were still gorgeous! Lindsay recently relocated from the Bowling Green area. We had some fun subjects to talk about since I went to B.G.S.U (I ended up transferring, but was there long enough to know where to go to grab a beer – lol). And I learned that Christopher served overseas as a military police officer. Here’s some of my picks from our session:

We were a little concerned about the weather when Erin, Adam and I met for our session a few weeks ago, but fortunately the rain held off  long enough to capture some shots by the lake. After the beach, we headed over to the shopping center at Old Detroit Road (near The Perfect Bride — an awesome little boutique if you’re shopping for a wedding dress), and ended our session at Tartine Bistro where they were kind enough to let us shoot. I had an fabulous time photographing Anna and Rick for their engagement session in Cleveland on East 4th Street. Anna and Rick seem to bring out the best in each other, and smiles come easily when they’re in each other’s company.

With Andrea and Paul living in Chicago, Cleveland is not only this couple’s wedding location but was the perfect spot for our engagement session. We decided to shoot in The Flats. With their laid-back personalities, Andrea and Paul were super-fun to work with and I’m looking forward to their wedding this June at the Windmill Lakes Golf Club.

Courtney and Josh are originally from the Northeastern Ohio, but currently live in Orange County, CA. They don’t see snow on the West coast, so Courtney requested to have our session in December after the snow had fallen. We decided to venture out to Alpine Valley Ski Resort for our session, and 24 degrees and snow didn’t stop us! Courtney and Josh were troopers! They did a FABULOUS job during our session, and I can’t wait to see them again in September.

Recently, I met up with Katy and Frank for our E-Session at one of my favorite spots — Downtown Cleveland! Frank is the brother of another client, Manda, who was married in 2008.

During our session, we walked around to a few locations in the area, dodged some Browns fans and braved the chilly Cleveland temps. Katy and Frank were really great for putting up with the cold weather during our session! Northeastern Ohio winters can get SO COLD! Brrr….

Courtney and Rich currently live out-of-state, but Courtney is originally from Copley, Ohio. They came into town several weeks ago while the weather was still mild, so we decided to shoot their E-Session at Courtney’s family home.

Their wedding will be next June at St. Mary Catholic Church in Massillon, and reception following at The Glenmoor Country Club. I’ll be working with Tricia Dever, a wedding coordinator from Always Eventful for the first time. We have another wedding together in 2010, so I’m looking forward to meeting her.

Can I just say DREAM location to shoot?! The property included a pond, several acres, and a field with wildflowers. We had a great time! Here’s some of my favorites from our session:
